It has been a slow year for adding plants to the collection. As time wears on it becomes harder and harder to find new varieties to add. While many new plants are introduced, it is often hard to get excited about them as so few distinguish themselves from the existing and proven varieties.

That doesn’t mean we won’t try, but often new arrivals to our collection will be of the proven and reliable maples that grace the pages of reference books not the “latest and the greatest.” As our collection grows and we propagate more, we also have to turn our attention to build the infrastructure of the nursery and display gardens which can cut into our time on the road.
